Self-Defense Series (Intermediate)
In the month of December, our newest Personal Trainer, Rob Covington, will be hosting a four-part Self-Defense Workshop Series beginning with basic martial-arts movements and progressing each week up to expert-level techniques. This workshop is intended to teach our members how to properly respond to their environment through cognitive and physical training styles.
Rob is trained in eighteen different styles of martial arts. Having been influenced by boxing, mixed martial arts (MMA), and strength training, he has developed a very well-rounded approach to fitness that he wishes to share with our community. The second session of this series is focused on progressing into more advanced movements. Rob will go over general information covering safety, continued self-defense curriculum, and intermediate-level movements building on what was learned in Self Defense Series (Beginner).
The full Self-Defense Workshop Series schedule is as follows:
- Saturday, December 7th: Self-Defense Series I (Beginner)
- Saturday, December 14th: Self-Defense Series II (Intermediate)
- Saturday, December 21st: Self-Defense Series III (Advanced)
- Saturday, December 28th: Self-Defense Series IV (Expert)
Although it will be helpful to attend these workshops in order, all levels are welcome at all sessions within this series. Rob will spend time with each participant to ensure they are performing movements safely and effectively. This workshop is free for members, if non-members would like to attend they can visit as a guest with a member following the company guest policies; or they can pay a day-fee of $15.
