We are thrilled to be re-opening. You are our community, our family. Your health and wellness is very important to us and we know that we have many members that can’t wait to get back to their old routines in our “new normal”. We have gone above and beyond the guidelines to put new safety measures in place.

New Safety Protocols

We are taking a multi-pronged approach to sanitize the surfaces we touch and maintain safe physical distancing at all times.

Updated 5/12/20 based on confirmed SC regulations. Protocols are subject to changes from local and state health guidelines.

Deep Cleaning

Our heightened deep-cleaning process starts with a top-grade disinfectant & more frequent cleaning. Our team will use a disinfectant proven to kill viruses like COVID-19 in all common areas.

High-touch surfaces (including doorknobs, handles, rails, light switches, sanitizing stations, lockers, bathrooms, sinks, toilets, benches, locker keys, front desk items, computers, phones and instructor equipment) will be disinfected twice per day.

During temporary afternoon closures and overnight our team will use hospital-grade foggers that cling to surfaces and are proven to kill viruses like COVID-19 with special attention to weights, doors, cardio equipment, seats, handles, and all high-touch surfaces. These also allow us to disinfect hard-to-reach crevices and ensure complete coverage throughout the club.

Spray & Wipe Down

Members will receive their own spray bottle upon entry and are asked to wipe down every piece of equipment and surface touched during their workout. We will sanitize the bottle after each use. Additional sanitizing stations will also be added throughout the clubs.

Masks & Gloves

Your O2 Fitness team is here to help, from a safe distance. All O2 team members will be required to wear a mask while inside the club—please do not ask a team member to remove their mask. After deep cleaning, they’ll wash their hands before refreshing gloves and masks as needed. Masks are recommended, but not required, for members.

Need a mask? The O2 Rewards Store has several options, including this Sports Training Carbon Mask that is designed to be well-ventilated, breathable and quick drying.

Sick Policy

Every O2 team member and instructor will have their temperature checked before their shift. When necessary, we’ll follow our elevated temperature protocol.

If you feel sick, have a fever, or someone in your household is sick please do not come to the club. In the event that there is a reported case of COVID-19 in your club and you were potentially in contact with the individual, you’ll be notified immediately. From there, we’ll take the proper safety precautions to disinfect the club from top to bottom.

Six Feet Apart

Keep to the right when entering and exiting the club. Floor markers will indicate a safe distance in the lobby and signage will help guide you around the club.

Members are asked to keep six feet between themselves and the next person. Remember, six feet is approximately four paces.

Physical Distancing

Every other piece of cardio equipment will be closed, and alternated daily, to allow for proper distancing between members. This will also allow for our team to do a deep clean of the equipment on the days that they are not in use. Keeping one machine between you and other members is also recommended in other parts of the club to help maintain six feet of separation.

Hands Free Check-In

Scan your key tag at the front desk when you arrive. Plan to arrive at least 5 minutes before outdoor studio classes begin so we can walk you to the outdoor space. For indoor classes we will have a Membership Experience team member accepting reservations (one only) up to 30 minutes prior to the class beginning.

Access to Amenities

Lockers will be available for members to use; however, towels, showers, saunas, and steam rooms will be temporarily unavailable. Please bring your own towel.

Water fountains should be used for refilling water bottles only. Please do not drink directly from the fountain.

We highly suggest bringing only the necessities and leaving other personal items locked in your car.

Daily classes outside!

We are hosting outdoor studio classes several times each day to ensure that proper social distancing can be maintained. Class schedules will continue to be updated as club policies and instructor availabilities change.

We ask that all members verbally enter into a social agreement with us to comply with these guidelines upon entering the club.

Keeping each other safe

We’ve put a lot of changes in place—with details beyond what you see here. The way our new safety process will be most effective is if we all make sure to do our part in it. Be Kind. Be Thoughtful. Be Friendly.

Aside from respecting the safety guidelines put in place by our governments, we ask that anyone who enters the club takes care of each other and respects the O2 team and fellow members’ space.

Hand Washing

Hands will be washed with soap and water before and after your workout.

Social Distancing

Please make sure to practice social distancing when in close, shared spaces like locker rooms and bathrooms. Follow the markers placed around the club to maintain a safe distance.

Personal Health

If you have a cough, fever, or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to the club until you’re symptom-free and fever-free for three days. If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the club for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19. If you feel unwell or have any concerns about coming into the club, please stay home and stay safe.

Limit Contact

We’re encouraging members and team members to limit person-to-person contact, including hugs, high fives, and fist bumps. This is the perfect time to work on your air guitar celebration of reaching a goal.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the hours of operation?

Temporary operating hours will be Monday – Friday 5 am to 8 pm and Saturday – Sunday 7 am to 7 pm. These hours allow O2 team members to fog equipment with hospital grade cleaner each evening. Additionally, we will close clubs between 1:30–2:30 pm or 2:30–3:30 pm for additional daily fogging and disinfecting of the entire club. The schedule of temporary closures was designed so another club close by would be available for you to visit.

How many members are allowed in the gym at the same time?

We will be limiting the number of members in the club based on government mandated occupancy. 

What amenities are not available yet?

During the initial phase of re-opening, we will not be offering towel service, showers, steam rooms, saunas, Kids Club, or indoor Studio classes.

What are the Kids Club hours?

Kids Club has been postponed. We look forward to offering Kids Club in the near future.

Do I need to wear a face mask while working out?

Masks are recommended for members. Masks are required for the O2 Fitness team—please do not ask a team member to remove their mask. Need a mask? The O2 Rewards Store has several options, including this Sports Training Carbon Mask that is designed to be well-ventilated, breathable and quick drying.

What are your social distancing guidelines while in the club?

We are asking all members to maintain a 6-foot distance between themselves and others in the club. We will provide visual cues to help you ensure distancing guidelines are respected including signage, floor markers, area closures and staff to monitor and enforce these rules. We will be rotating cardio equipment that is open and available each day to maintain an “every-other” distance and approach to our cardio deck. Refrain from “rotating in” with another member and keep one piece of equipment between you and other guests.

What else are you doing to keep the clubs clean?

O2 is taking a multi-pronged approach to sanitize the clubs, including:

  • Daily rotation of fogging/sanitization of the clubs by zones, as well as a full fogging each night.
  • Spray bottles provided to every member upon entry to the club with a verbal agreement to wipe down every piece of equipment and surface touched while working out.
  • Heavy promotion of hand washing.
  • Policy for sick team members and members to stay home.
  • Propping open doors as much as possible to prevent touching of door handles.
Will I be charged May dues?

No, we are not charging members prorated dues for the remainder of the month of May.

When will my membership credit be available to use?

You can apply your credit to personal training or virtual training in June, cooler items, trade the credit in for a one month membership for a friend, or apply it towards your membership dues starting in July 2020 through the end of 2020. Visit the front desk and speak with a member experience team member to apply your credit.

Can I gift my credit to a friend for a free month of membership?

Yes, visit the member experience team at the front desk and you can gift your credit for a friend to have access to the club for the month of your choice.

When will my $25 voucher be available to spend?

The voucher will be available in the Rewards Store once we reopen.
